A significant part of this involves reconstructing past property boundaries from deeds using geographic information systems (GIS). This is a time intensive process, but the results are powerful.

The Method in a Nutshell
The basic methodology for creating a historic property GIS involves three steps:

Isadora is a graphic programming environment for Macintosh and Windows that provides interactive control over digital media.
